Each year one lucky attendee will win a race slot into the following year's Ironman World Championship. Men and Women now race in alternate years. The 2026 race will be a women's only field.

About the Race Slot
Mahalo to the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC)/ Ironman® World Championship for making this offer available to the Ironman Medical Symposium (IMS) attendees.
One fully-registered conference attendee will be selected to receive a slot in the following year'sIronman® World Championship through a drawing exclusive to the conference. As of November 2024, Ironman is alternating between men and women racing in Kona. This could change in 2026 and beyond.
This is a unique opportunity to gain entry into the Ironman® World Championship in Hawaii. Approximately 2,000 athletes from around the world will vie to compete by qualifying through Ironman-affiliated events held worldwide. Visit the Ironman® World Championship web site for details.
Participation Requires Careful Consideration
Participating in the Ironman® World Championship requires substantial physical, personal, professional and financial commitment. In fairness to all interested entrants, please do not enter your name in the slot drawing if you are unable or unwilling to make a serious investment of time, financial resources and energy required to successfully train and participate in the Ironman World Championship.
How to enter the Race Slot Drawing
- Only FULL CONFERENCE REGISTRANTS of the IMS registrants are eligible to enter the drawing. Daily Registrants do not qualify.
- Each interested registrant may submit their name on Thursday, at the Symposium NO LATER THAN 3:30 PM. Entry cards will be distributed at the 3:00 p.m. break - but not before.
- You do not need to pre-register in advance for the drawing.
- No proxies will be accepted, you must be present to enter and/or win.
- Registration for the conference does not mean you are automatically entered in the drawing. It only means you are eligible. (See Eligibility Restrictions below for more information.)
- Past attendees of the IMS may submit one entry card for each year they have attended – up to a maximum of three entries. Entrants that misrepresent the number of conferences they have attended will be automatically disqualified.
- Three names will be drawn, and one winner and two alternates will be announced.
