About the Race Slot

Mahalo to the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC)/ Ironman® World Championship for making this offer available to the Ironman Medical Symposium (IMS) attendees.

One (1) full 5-day conference attendee will be selected to receive a slot in the following year's Ironman® World Championship through a drawing exclusive to the symposium. In April 2025, an Ironman announcement confirmed the 2026 race will return to a single-day of racing bringing together both women and men for the Ironman® World Championship on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

This is a unique opportunity to gain entry into the  Ironman® World Championship in Hawaii. Approximately 3,000 athletes from around the world will vie to compete by qualifying through Ironman-affiliated events held worldwide. Visit the Ironman® World Championship web site for details.

Participation Requires Careful Consideration

Participating in the Ironman® World Championship requires substantial physical, personal, professional and financial commitment. In fairness to all interested entrants, please do not enter your name in the slot drawing if you are unable or unwilling to make a serious investment of time, financial resources and energy required to successfully train and participate in the  Ironman World Championship.

How to enter the Race Slot Drawing

1. Only FULL 5-day CONFERENCE REGISTRANTS of the 2025 Ironman Medical Symposium are eligible to enter the drawing. Daily registrants do not qualify.
2. Entry and Drawing will be on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Outrigger Kona Resort Keauhou Ballroom.
3. Entry cards will be distributed at the 3:00 p.m. break - but not before.
4. Each interested registrant may submit their name NO LATER THAN 3:30 PM.
5. A name will be drawn after the last session at 5:30 pm in the Keauhou Ballroom.
6. No proxies will be accepted, you must be present to enter and/or win.
7. You do not need to pre-register in advance for the drawing.
8. Registration for the conference does not mean you are automatically entered in the drawing. It only means you are eligible. (See Eligibility Restrictions below for more information)
9. Past attendees of the IMS may submit one entry card for each year they have attended – up to a maximum of three entries. Entrants that misrepresent the number of conferences they have attended will be automatically disqualified.
10. Three (3) names will be drawn - one winner and two alternates will be announced.
